What goes into our pricing?
Floral Preservation is a slow art form and takes a lot of time and patience! Many hours of work goes into making your original piece.
- Bouquet Breakdown, Pressing, and Monitoring. 4-6 hours. Each bouquet takes 2+ hours to deconstruct. Presses are checked regularly throughout the first week, going through every page of flowers and adjusting petals, changing out wet paper, and using alternative pressing methods to get excess moisture out of heavy, wet flowers. Please note that flower preservation is never a guarantee, not every single flower will press to perfect condition. All flowers take to the press differently as one flower of the same class might press better than the next.
- Flower Reconstruction. 2 hours. Before beginning the design process, I have to reconstruct certain flowers that I cannot press whole. This process is becoming more and more integral to the outcome of your final piece
- Designing. 1-2 hours. I arrange your flowers to create mockups, which I will then text over to you for your review and approval. You have 72 hours to get back to me and if no response, I will need to move forward with the design as is. I will create mock ups for you until it is exactly how you want.
- Gluing. 3-6 hours. This part takes a lot of patience and care. Glass is cleaned during this step to ensure debris and fingerprints are removed.
- The Odds + Ends. 1-2 hours. This includes the time spent communicating with each and every customer about their design, frame, and size choices, and educating them about the overall process. This may include time spent shipping the bouquet, potentially working with florists to acquire replacement flowers and pressing them, etc.
